About

Us

Curiosity is core to who we are…

…and passion led us here. We believe in lifelong learning, and we practice it. Our mission is to deliver career-defining learning experiences that drive innovation and change for the business, and prepare leaders for what’s next.

Leadership & Co. was founded by former leaders and faculty from CEB Leadership Academies. We’ve worked with many of the world’s leading organizations, including 70% of the Global 2000 and 80% of the Fortune 1000.

“Peer learning—taking people out of their daily workspace and getting them comfortable to experiment with new thinking among peers—is still critical in today’s tech-driven society.”

Proud moment… led the design of a blended learning program for customer service professionals, which continues to garner 95% satisfaction scores, 94% job impact rating, and significantly impact customer service metrics for companies worldwide.

Curious about… the impact of 4-5 generations working together for the first time in history. I’m a generational junkie.

Fun fact… I’ve traveled to 32 countries, but one of my most bizarre experiences was getting a tour of Shanghai with a glass of Champagne in hand while sitting in the sidecar of a motorcycle driven by an Irishman.

“We’re born curious, but we squelch our impulse to explore as expertise builds and experience teaches us to stop asking questions. Cultivating our innate curiosity requires vulnerability about what we don’t know, and a desire to continuously learn.”

Proud moment… helping complete a corporate divestment in under 3 months, a grueling learning experience that taught me the power of a well-aligned team.

Curious about… discourse in the workforce. As a linguist, I’m particularly curious about language used by leaders.

Fun fact… I’ve been teaching yoga since 2006.

“In the end, leadership development is not only about getting leaders to think and plan and collaborate better… it is about getting them to do better.”

Proud moment… as Global Faculty Head & founding member of CEB’s Leadership Development business, helping grow business to $100M+ in less 10 years.

Curious about… the examination and impact of true leadership, an unquenchable curiosity I discovered many years ago at West Point.

Fun fact… by the time I was 23, the US Army had taken me to 26 countries, all 50 states, and I’d learned to speak Italian.

“Employees need to be curious about their colleagues in other functions: how they are operating, what drives their success, what challenges they’re working on, and how they contribute to the success of the business.”

Proud moment… seeing 93% of CEB members companies I’d taught renew their contracts year to year.

Curious about… how to get the best out of a team.

Fun fact… I have a split-personality: I’m both a triathlete and a food-lover.

Of all the things I have researched and taught over the past 20 years, none have been more powerful than the concepts of Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset. Clients have used a deep understanding of these Mindsets to transform not only their organizations, but also to deepen and enrich their relationships with their families. Being able to share the gift of Mindset with leaders, who can then share it with so many others, is tremendously rewarding.”

Proud moment… I was named Speaker of the Year for Vistage International from among a group of 1,500 professional speakers and facilitators.

Curious about… the ability of people to radically transform their lives by shifting their Mindset.

Fun fact… despite a fear of heights, I have thrown myself out of three perfectly good airplanes.

Nothing is more fulfilling than during a classroom discussion someone pausing and saying, ‘I never thought about it that way.’”

Proud moment… led the “human side” of a merger of two global pharmaceutical companies to consider future competency and role requirements, not just seniority.

Curious about… why leaders feel they must always be in performance mode and so undervalue learning.

Fun fact… I used to cater friends’ fundraising parties and still love challenging baking and cooking.

I believe one of the most important parts of leadership development is helping people see themselves as leaders. People tend to have a very narrow view of ‘leader’: it’s a title, something given to you by a company, visible on an org chart. But we all have opportunities to offer leadership, title or not, professionally or personally. If people don’t see those opportunities, the development part of traditional leadership development becomes moot.”

Proud moment… at the very start of a 6-day development program, one participant argued vehemently against the very premise of the program, dismissing the research, experts, and me. Then, on the final day, he shared with the class that his mind was changed, he felt differently about his role, had a new appreciation for his work, and he thanked me.

Curious about… how, after all this time, people still underestimate the personal side of leadership.

Fun fact… my husband and I do similar work and “lovingly” debate who does it best.

“Leadership development programs don’t work, unless you do. I believe you should ‘be part of the game, not a keeper of the score.’ If you hear yourself think, ‘I know this already,’ immediately catch that thought and turn it around. There is always another level of mastery to reach, and when you train yourself to always ask the question ‘What can I learn from this?’ you train your brain to find new opportunities for growth.”

Proud moment… making virtual learning feel personal. Keeping a group of 30 participants from 4 continents actively engaged in a virtual learning experience and telling me afterwards they thought they would hate online learning but this was one of the best learning experiences they’d ever had.

Curious about… changing the way we present to better align with the brain, so audiences will act on your story.

Fun fact… I help clients share their entrepreneurial story in the form of a personal magazine. Ask me about mine!

“When delivered in a focused, compelling way, face-to-face leadership development remains the most effective method to drive lasting behavioural change.”

Proud moment… Leading the growth of CEB’s EMEA Finance Practice from $4M to $20M over a 3 year period–an incredible journey with a world-class team supporting amazing clients.

Curious about… enabling high performance at both an individual and organisational level (guess what–the two are not unrelated!).

Fun fact… I’ve worked all over the world, speak French fluently, and thanks to my wife, conversational Swedish, too.
